Managing your membership list is not easy, various limits have been put forward to how many on a list can a volunteer manage. Essentially this depends on a number or other factors.

With such communications tools as e-mail you can reach your membership as often as you wish, instead of a monthly or quarterly events bulletin you can be little and often, bite size chunks that will be read by the membership, instead of the six pages that will be ignored.

Members have a habit of moving e-mail addresses and not telling all of their friends; unless the e-mail is bounced you will never know they are not receiving your messages.
